Strengthening Partnership with Betio Town Council!
On the 21st of August, the team had the opportunity to meet with the Betio Town Council (BTC) Full Council, including the Vice Mayor, Clerk, Island Development Officer (IDO), Betio Elderly Rep, Catholic Church Rep, Police Rep (Superintendent of Police), which was held at the BTC premises in Betio.
During the meeting, the team introduced and shared ChildFund Kiribati’s five-year programme, which focuses on Youth Development, Child Protection, and Resilience. Betio is one of the three pilot areas, meaning that programme activities will primarily focus on supporting the communities of Betio.
The meeting also provided an important opportunity to strengthen our understanding of the Betio Town Council’s work and explore areas where ChildFund Kiribati and the Betio Town Council can collaborate to better support children, young people, families, and the wider community.
We sincerely thank the Betio Town Council, including the Vice Mayor, Clerk, IDO and Police Rep for taking the time to meet with our team and for the valuable discussion and support.
Together, we can build stronger partnerships and make a meaningful difference in the lives of our children, young people, families, and communities.
